A word about file types:

Before Humphreys Signs can produce any signs for you but there are a couple of things that we need you to do first

If the design work is already done:
We are happy to design or create a design from a sketch for you but if this has already been done we will need a file from you that we can use with our software in order to produce the final output.

EPS files
Most design applications will allow you to export as an eps file and this is the most common file that we deal with (pdf files come a very close second). We accept files from the following applications (please note that for screen printed output this needs to be in vectored format).

Signlab 7 (or less)
Illustrator (CS3 or less)
Coreldraw 12 (or less)
PDF (acrobat files - vectored only)

Plus many others - please ask if unsure.

For full colour work or 4 colour process printing (files must be of sufficient resolution for printing at the required output size)

Photoshop (no fonts)
JPEG
Tif
Bitmaps
Any other image file if suitable quality

Font conflicts
The most common problem when dealing with someone elses file are missing or non compatible fonts. Please ensure that all text is converted to outlines before sending the file to us.
Don't worry if you are having problems doing this because we are here to help if we can -just ask and we will do what we can.

Low Resolution images:
Its quite common for clients to send images from their website or mobile phone. As the quality of the output is governed by the original file it is vitally important that the image is of high enough resolution in relation to the output size (I will be posting an image resolution guide on this site shortly but for now please ask). We will always notify you if we think the output is not going to be of the expected quality due to the image resolution.
